   The Circuit Court of Macon County is a court of general civil and criminal jurisdiction.  The Court has several divisions.  The Circuit Division (Division I) handles felony criminal cases,  civil cases where the amount in controversy exceeds $25,000.00, cases involving dissolution of marriage, adult abuse, juvenile cases and other cases specifically designated by statute.  The Associate Division (Division II) handles misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic cases, civil cases under $25,000.00, probate matters (estates, trusts, guardianships and conservatorships), small claims cases, landlord/tenant  and other cases designated by statute.  The Municipal Division (Division V) handles municipal ordinance violations.

DOCKET CALL:

Law Days:*   Division I  -  Second and fourth Wednesday of each month.

                   Division I  -  Juvenile Law Days – Second and fourth Monday of each

                                     month. 

                                     The court also schedules special settings for juvenile matters

                                      when necessary.

                   Division II -  Criminal/Traffic Law Day – Each Tuesday.

                   Division II -   Civil Law Day, (includes Small Claims and Landlord/ Tenant)

                                      First and third Monday of each month;

                                      Starting 1/1/06, second and fourth Monday of each month.

                    Division II -  Probate Law Day – Second Wednesday of each month.

 *Individual Law Days are subject to rescheduling.  Law Days that fall on holiday will  either be cancelled or rescheduled.
