The County Clerk is responsible for the following:

  • Custodian of records for the County Commission
  • Human Resources for all Macon County Employees
  • Payroll, taxes, and reporting
  • Retirement and Insurance Administration
  • Is the County Election Authority 
  • Billing for Personal and Real Estate Property for Railroads and Utilities 
  • Issues County Licenses, including Liquor Licenses, Notary Commissions, Auctioneers, and ATV permits
  • Accounts Payable
  • Sets Yearly Tax Levies
